The EBC Foundation Dedicates the

2016 Every Boob Counts 5K to

Gary Shapiro

On November 10, 2015 an amazing human being was unexpectedly and tragically taken from so many that loved and adored him.  Gary was only 35 years old.  He left beind his soulmate Corey and two beautiful baby girls, Sami (4) and Abigail (6 months).  There wasn't a person that came into contact with Gary that he didn't make feel special.  Children were drawn to Gary, and he to them, in a way that can't be described in words but only in beautiful memories.  Gary loved to do silly things because he loved so much to bring joy to others.  Gary knew and supported the EBC Foundation's mission to raise awareness for the early detection of breast  cancer following the death of our founder's mother, Sandy Zabinsky.  Gary's wife, Corey, chose the Foundation to receive donations on behalf of Gary.  We couldn't imagine a more fitting way to honor those bequests and honor Gary's life than to create a scholarship in Gary's name to enable children that have lost a parent, sibling or caregiver to breast cancer to attend Manitou's Experience Camps.

100% of every dollar raised by Team Gary will be used to fund the Gary Shapiro Scholarship so that children who have suffered such a loss as a result of breast cancer, and would otherwise be unable to go to Manitou's Experience Camps, will have that opportunity.

Gary, you will never be forgotten, your work here on earth will continue, and you will be in our hearts forever.  To learn more about Manitou's Experience Camps, please visit
